Sugar Cookies
Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
In the bowl of your mixer, cream butter and sugar, then beat in the vanilla extract and egg.
Add the baking powder to the mix and then slowly a 1/2 cup at a time, add the flour and beat on low. Beat until all the flour is used and the dough is stiff.
Roll the dough out onto a floured surface about 1/4" thick and cut in to any shape you like.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until the top turns golden brown.
