Most of the time you’ll spend making these will be in assembly but they don’t really take much to assemble either. The flavor of these cupcakes is a really perfect blend of flavor. They look sweet but they have a really nice balance between the sourness of cherries and the savory frosting to go with the chocolate cake. These are really delicious and I recommend making them the next time you need cupcakes.

This soup is really light but filling. It’s basically a tomato soup with noodles but because you toast the noodles beforehand they have this perfect texture with just a bit of bite on the outside. It’s perfect with a nice thick bread or roll. I like texture in my soup so I add chopped vegetables to the base but if you want less work you can simply make this with canned tomatoes and a good instant stock base.

Sometimes you just want something in nugget form but you also want vegetables and this is basically the perfect fusion of those two ideas. These are pretty easy to make if you use a food processor to chop up the vegetables and if you bake them in the oven they’re really low effort but they do taste much better when pan fried. Depends on if you’re willing to spend a little more effort for better tasting food.

Perfect for a weeknight meal, made easily with things you probably have laying around the house and all you have to do is chop an onion this curry is filling and rich and is vegan if you swap the traditional cream for coconut milk instead. Really delicious with naan.

This recipe is a little time consuming but it’s worth the effort for a special occasion or if you really want something to wow guests. It doesn’t have many ingredients but the flavor is perfect. If you’re feeling a little healthy you can bake these instead of frying them but I haven’t tried that yet so your results may vary.

These are really similar to the cookies I used to get all the time in Italian bakeries / delis growing up in New York. I didn’t have a pastry bag so I simply rolled the dough into very small, even sized balls I would absolutely suggest using a pastry bag or spritz machine to make your cookies. The assembly of these is very simple but it really enhances the experience of the cookie itself so it’s worth taking the extra steps. The cookie is flaky and butter with a good snap but it’s not too brittle.

My husband loves mushroom dishes lately and he also loves stroganoff (which I hate) so I figured it was worth it to give this a try and what do you know? He loved it. I find it kind of weird but it comes together easy enough with things I usually have on hand that it might be a great new go-to recipe for odd dinners.

I have been dangerously lax about posting lunches this year and I’m not sure why. I’ve even had trouble keeping up with posting them on Instagram but I guess you can’t do all the things all the time? Either way there’s only a few more weeks left in the year (more like a dozen and a half but it feels like only a few) so let’s see if we can’t get back on track until 2020.

Recipe: Lemon and Raspberry Battenberg
Surprisingly this is both a very simple and a very difficult cake to make but I can assure you that guests will be impressed even if you deliver a technically imperfect masterpiece. Since its just one cake recipe all the work is in the assembly so if you’re like me you’ll probably make a mess and it will take you a surprising amount of time from start to finish. This can sit for a few days though because its covered so just block out enough time before you commit.

These are classic and easy and since I’m not actually a big fan of peanut butter I like these better than the peanut butter m&m cookies I previously made. This is a single bowl, no wait cookie that comes out absolutely perfect every time and is so simple you probably have everything in your house right now except the M&M candies.
