I think it only took me an extra two years to make sweet scones but these are the best, they taste super fresh and almost like a cream dessert. They’re even more simple than savory scones but be aware this recipe makes enough for sharing.
Vanilla and Cardamom Scone
Preheat the oven to 220°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, vanilla extract, cardamom, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the butter in small pieces and, using your fingers or a pastry blender, work the butter into the dry ingredients until it is coarse.
Add the cream and kneed the dough in the bowl until it comes together.
Gently roll the dough in to 1" thick rectangle and cut in to shapes.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown.
