The potatoes do have to soak before you bake them so there is a 30 minute wait and the 30 minute cooking time makes less very less convenient than their frozen counterparts but they’re delicious and taste and feel just like they were fried without all the extra fat and oil needed to fry. They also take only 2-3 minutes of active work, mostly just chopping up a potato.
Easy Baked French Fries
Preheat the oven to 450° and line a baking sheet with parchment or spray with non-stick spray.
Place all of the cut strips in a large bowl of cold water and allow to sit for 15-60 minutes, this will remove the excess starch in the potato and allow the fries to get extra crispy.
Drain the potatoes and pat dry with paper towel
Combine the oil and desired seasonings in a bowl, add the cut potato and toss to coat.
Spread fries on a single layer on the baking sheet and cook for 25-35 minutes until done.
