Scotch eggs are British/Scottish/English pub food and they’re usually fried but since I’m not a big fan of fried food I went ahead and baked them instead. They’re actually fairly simple to make but they do make a bit of a clean up job since they need to be dipped in multiple things (plus there’s no way to make them except for sticking your hands in everything!).
Baked Scotch Eggs
Peel all your hard boiled eggs and preheat the oven to 400°F.
Set up your coating bowls placing flour with salt/pepper in one, breadcrumbs in another, and the egg mixed with water in the third.
In the ground turkey package mix in your seasonings of choice until blended then divide the filling into six even portions.
To assemble cup your hand around the egg and coat with ground meat making sure there are no gaps or holes, then dip in the flour to coat, dip in the eggs, and lastly in the breadcrumbs.
Place on a lined baking sheet and repeat for the other 5 eggs.
Cook eggs for about 25-30 minutes until the meat is completely cooked and they are dark brown.
